DX1R on Traslacion 2024

1st Amateur Activity, Pioneering the Year's Journey with Grandeur and Purpose on TRASLACION 2024

The Traslacion of the Black Nazarene from Quirino Grandstand back to its home Quiapo Church, is a significant annual event in the Philippines. It draws millions of devotees, creating a unique set of challenges in terms of crowd management, emergency response, and communication. Recognizing the need for a coordinated effort, Responders Amateur Radio Enthusiasts Inc. (DX1R-RARE), together with Philippine Amateur Radio Association (PARA) pooled their resources and expertise to relay a complete and vital information for the Philippine Red Cross Management.

To address the vast and diverse nature of the event, the members were strategically distributed across the 11 segments of the Traslacion. Each segment presented its own set of challenges and requirements, and the collaborative approach ensured that there was a skilled team ready to respond effectively to any situation that might arise. The coordinated efforts of Philippine Red Cross (PRC) and Philippine Amateur Radio Association (PARA) proved to be a lifeline for 752 individuals who found themselves in distress amid the massive crowd.

The successful extrication and rescue operations were made possible by the strategic use of radio communication, facilitating swift relay of critical information from each segment to the Incident Command Post. As the curtains fall on Traslacion 2024.
